Maha Sallam, Ph.D. is the founder and President of VuEssence
Dr. Sallam is a graduate of the University of South Florida where she finished her undergraduate studies and subsequently earned her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. She also completed the Leadership and Strategy in Pharmaceuticals and Biotech Executive Education program at the Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts.

Christine Larkins, Ph.D., Research Scientist
Dr. Larkins received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry Cell and Developmental Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and did her postdoctoral research in the Molecular Genetics and Microbiology Department at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Her research interests have been in understanding the molecular and cellular basis of congenital birth defects.
During her time as a graduate student and postdoctoral research, she published nine papers. She was awarded a predoctoral fellowship from the America Heart Association, a postdoctoral fellowship, and a research scientist career development award from the NIH. Her current interests are in understanding the genetic basis of disease, and she is excited to use her skills in molecular biology to advance the goals of the VuEssence team.
Michael “Mick” Kracht, M.S., Biomedical Engineer
Mick earned his Master of Science and Engineering in Biomedical Engineering. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and his Master’s degree at Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, Maryland.
While at Johns Hopkins he focused on neural engineering and biomedical instrumentation. He is primarily interested in closing the gap between biology and technology. He is thrilled to be a part of the VuEssence team and use his skills in medical device design and image processing.
